Employees of the Environmental Protection and Mining Inspection Body identified violations at a fish farm owned by citizen V. B. in the Hovtashat community of Ararat Province.

To supply the fish farm with water, V. B. had been extracting water from a self-flowing deep well without the required water use permit.

The calculated damage caused to water resources amounted to AMD 59,591,304.

To ensure enforcement of the decision to suspend the illegal water abstraction, the decision was forwarded to the Compulsory Enforcement Service of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia.

Taking into account the facts recorded and the presence of elements of a criminal offence, the Inspection Body filed a report on a crime with the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia.
